Lipstick of the month - Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade "Serenity".

I’ve decided to start a new series on my blog called “Lipstick of The Month”. If you’ve read any other posts on this blog you might have noticed that I’ve got a bit of a thing for lipstick. No other beauty product makes me as happy as a new lipstick, and you can never have too many nudes right? So I thought why not dedicate a whole post each month to a lip product I’ve been loving? Whether it be a new discovery or an old favourite. The product I’ve chosen to be my first ever lipstick of the month is a new discovery and it is… *dramatic pause*… the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte liquid lipstick in the shade “Serenity”. Mac Shy Girl Review Swatches

Before this purchase I hadn’t bought a MAC lipstick for a while. I think I convinced myself that they were too popular and I was just buying them because of the hype. However, I have now fallen back in love with MAC. Over the summer I was on the hunt for my perfect peachy nude. I never really found the shade and to be honest I forgot all about it. That was until I saw Shy Girl. I love a good daytime lipstick and Shy Girl is perfect. View Full Post

I am a massive lipstick fan. I get more excited about buying a lipstick than I do any other beauty product. There are just so many different formulas and shades out there that I need to try! This does come with a problem though- I’m terrible at finishing a lipstick (I don’t think I’ve ever done it). I’ll use one a few times, put it in a bag and completely forget that I have it. I do however have a small collection that I wear regularly. These are the more neutral, daytime friendly shades and I’ll give you a rundown of my top 5 most used lipsticks. I have tried to represent the colour of the lipsticks accurately in the photos, but I would say they all look a tiny bit darker on the lips than the picture shows.

Top 5 Most Used Lipsticks- Mac Velvet Teddy Swatch and On Lips

No points for originality here, but it really is the perfect daytime shade. I have written a full review on Velvet Teddy here.

Zoeva Luxe Cream Lipstick Review. Shades Easy Spirit and Faith and Love.

Lipstick is probably my favourite makeup item to buy. It’s fair to say I have a slight obsession. I realised recently that I don’t have many “summer” shades and as the weather is getting warmer I had the perfect excuse to buy some! I do have a few oranges but they are all quite bright and I wanted something more subtle. Zoeva is a brand I have always wanted to try (I still have my eye on their brushes and eyeshadow palettes), so I decided to buy a couple of their Luxe Cream Lipsticks. As I wanted a daytime lip colour I chose two of the lightest shades “Easy Spirit” (on the left in both photos) and “Faith and Love” (on the right in both photos). View Full Post

barry m daylight curing nail varnish review

Recently Barry M launched a new range of Nail Varnishes- The Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paints. They claim to give the look of salon gel nails but without the need for a UV lamp. I really liked the sound of this (and I thought the idea was  interesting) so I picked up a couple in Superdrug. The colours I chose were a blue shade called “The Way You Make Me Teal” and a nude called “Do It Like A Nude” (anyone else have Jessie J in their head?). View Full Post

Mac Velvet teddy review

Last month I wrote about my first MAC purchase, a lipstick in the shade Spirit (here). I really loved it so I knew it wouldn’t be long before I bought another one. I was having a browse on the Debenhams website when I noticed they had 10% off beauty (they seem to do this quite often). How could I resist having a quick look at MAC? I obviously went straight to the lipstick section and after seeing that Velvet Teddy was in stock it took me about 10 seconds to press buy! So I think everyone has heard about this shade because it has been heavily linked with Kylie Jenner and those lips, but I thought I would do my own review and give my opinion on whether it is worth the hype.
