Today I am happy to share with you the first ever guest post on Rated in Beauty! It is written by the lovely Sophie from Books and Beauty and features her perfect pastel polishes for Spring and Summer. I hope you enjoy it and go check out her blog!
During the spring and summer months, you can go one of either two ways for your nail polish: bright or pastel. I think most people go for bright spring and summer nail polishes. However, if you like your nails to be a little toned down and a cute pastel colour, like myself, I have put together some of my favourite pastel polishes perfect for both spring and summer.
Ciate Sugar Plum
A beautiful pastel lilac shade, this screams spring to me. The formula of Ciate nail polishes are so good and definitely worth the £9 price tag. You’ll need around two coats to achieve an opaque colour (Available here).
Barry M Blue Moon
I’ve had this a while so I should probably throw it out! I love this colour far too much though. A gorgeous light blue colour that compliments the Ciate Sugar Plum colour. I like to paint alternate nails with this and Sugar Plum. Again, you will need two coats to get the full colour (Available here).
Essie Bikini So Teeny
Another blue but this time a more cornflower colour with shimmer running throughout. When applied to the nails, you can still see the shimmer. One thick coat of this is enough for me, but if you want to intensify it then go for two. Essie polishes are my absolute favourite; they apply like a dream, the brush is easy to use and they last long on the nails (Available here).
Barry M Peach Melba
Another Barry M polish! I know these are loved by beauty bloggers and are a great budget alternative to some other brands out there. Peach Melba is the perfect peach colour for spring and summer. Two coats will be needed to get the full opacity and the beautiful, creamy peach shade (Available here).
NYC Mint Macaroon
What pastel polishes post would this be without featuring a mint green! I’m very picky with green nail polishes and only have about two in my collection. However this is a beautiful pastel mint colour that applies really nice, needing two coats for full cover. (Available in Superdrug).
