My May Empties

May Empties 2015 Featuring Simple, No7 Foundation, Barry M Nail Varnish, Batiste Dry Shampoo and Talika Moisturiser

This is the first ever empties post on Rated In Beauty and that’s mainly because I have a slight problem with finishing products! I tend to buy new things before I’ve finished the old ones and I get bored too quickly. This month, however, I have actually managed to get to the end of a few items. So here are my empties and whether or not I’ll buy them again:

Simple Micellar Water

This was my first Micellar Water purchase and I was quite impressed. I liked the way my skin felt after using it and it was moisturising, I have since bought the Garnier Micellar Water which I think is a bit better for removing eye makeup.

Will I buy it again? I think I would just because my skin felt so nice after using it.

No7 Essentially Natural Foundation

I really like this foundation. I switch between this one and The No7 Stay Perfect Foundation. The Essentially Natural Foundation has a light/ medium coverage, so I think it’s good for the Summer. It’s also moisturising, which is perfect for my dry skin. I actually mentioned this foundation in my Festival Beauty Essentials post as I think it would make a good festival foundation. I will also add that I didn’t use all of this in May! The bottle contains 40ml of foundation so lasts several months, depending on how much coverage you want.

Will I buy it again? I already have!

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation

As I mentioned above I also use the No7 Stay Perfect Foundation. It provides slightly more coverage than the Essentially Natural Foundation, but is not as moisturising. I do like the foundation, but I find that it can go a bit patchy, especially when my skin is having a dry day. The advantage of the No7 foundations is the colour match service. It’s nice to know that you are picking up the right shade for your skin.

Will I buy it again? I have repurchased this several times, but I do prefer the other No7 foundation. I’ve been happy with it for a while but I think it might be time to search for something better. So reluctantly I’m going to say no.

Barry M Basecoat and Topcoat

This is probably the only nail varnish I have ever finished. Barry M is my go-to brand for cheap, good quality nail varnishes. There’s not much to say about a basecoat, but I have been happy with it and I like that it is a nail hardener as well.

Will I buy it again? Yes definitely! I have no issues with it and it’s good value for money.

Talika Photo Hydra Day

I recieved this as part of January’s My Little Box. I really liked it at the time and after finishing the bottle I was impressed! It made my skin feel moisturised without feeling like I had put anything on it. The only downside is the price, it is a little expensive (it costs £43.50 for 50ml from Boots).

Will I buy it again? If I had the money I would definitely consider it, but at the moment it is out of my price range.

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume

I am a huge fan of dry shampoo and Batiste is the brand I use the most. I also have quite thin hair, so I will try anything that can give it volume. The XXL volume dry shampoo does give volume but my hair doesn’t feel amazing after using it. If you have ever tried volumising powder, it feels a bit like that. It is harder to brush out than the normal range, but as I said it is good for volume.

Will I buy it again? Yes I will. Although I’m not a huge fan of how my hair feels, it does work and I am happy with anything that makes my hair less flat!

I hope you enjoyed my May empties post. I really need to work on finishing products more often! Have you ever tried these items? Do you agree with my opinions?
