My July Empties

My July empties and whether I will repurchase them

I don’t write many empties posts. I just never seem to be able to finish a product before I get bored and buy a new one! Is anyone else like this? Anyway I do have a few products I managed to finish this month (2 of them being sample size), so I’ll give them all a quick review and say whether or not I’ll be repurchasing them.

Cotton Wool Cosmetic Pads

These are my favourite pads for removing makeup. I have tried lots of types but I’ve found that these are a good size and don’t disintegrate. I use them with the Micellar Water to remove makeup and also with nail varnish remover. The best thing about these? They only cost £1 from Poundland and the pack of 80 lasts quite a long time.

Will I buy them again? Yes definitely, they’re cheap and do their job well.

L’Oreal #TXT Volume Spray

I am always on the lookout for a product that can give my fine hair volume. Unfortunately I just didn’t get on with this one. I was recommended this L’Oreal spray, so I had high hopes, but honestly I didn’t see a big difference in my hair volume after using it. It also left my hair feeling greasier than normal the next day. I did keep trying it, in the hope that it might somehow start working but in the end I was pretty disappointed.

Will I buy it again? Unfortunately no. The product might be good for some people but it didn’t work for me.

PIXI Glow Tonic

I got this sample in the Glamour Summer Edit Box and I said in my review that I was initially impressed with it. After finishing the small sample I was still impressed. I tend to get dry patches on my skin, and this product actually helped improve them.

Will I buy it again? I have purchased the full size after using this sample and I think it is definitely worth the money! It can be bought online from the PIXI website.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Micellar waters seem to have taken over the beauty world. The Garnier one is probably the most popular and I was happy with the results. It removed my makeup well and left my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. I use this every day with the cotton pads to take off my makeup.

Will I buy it again? Yes I already have. It has become an important part of my everyday routine.

L’Occitane Mer and Mistral Shower Gel

This was a sample from My Little Provence Box. I loved the smell of this shower gel but overall I was a little disappointed. It didn’t lather up, which I think is the most important quality in a shower gel. It’s also not cheap (it costs £12 for 175ml from L’Occitane), so I guess I expected more.

Will I buy it again? Although I did like the fragrance I was disappointed, so no.

So those were my July empties, my favourite has to be the PIXI Glow Tonic! Hopefully I will be able to include a few makeup products in my next empties post- I’m just so bad at using them up!

Have you tried any of these products? Will you be trying any of them? Let me know your thoughts.

  • I love the micellar water, it has become a firm favourite of mine! x

  • I love reading empties posts, but I’m exactly the same as you, and I never finish up anything as I’m always moving onto the next product! I’m a big fan of the PIXI Glow Tonic, so glad to hear that you love it too! Great post x
