Lypsyl Trio* Review

Lypsyl Trio Review, Original, Strawberry and Cherry

If you have read any of my past posts then you might know that I’m a bit of a lipstick addict. The problem with this, however, is my lips can sometimes feel dry, especially if I have been wearing a matte formula a lot. I always use lip balm to keep my lips in good condition, so when I was sent 3 Lypsyl products I was more than happy to test them out. Lypsyl is a brand that I haven’t used for a while, but I always seem to mention. I don’t know if anyone else does this but if I need lip balm I always ask, “Does anyone have any Lypsyl?”. Anyway, the products sent to me were the Original Lypsyl, Strawberry Polka Dot and Cherry Blossom.

Lypsyl Trio Review, Original, Strawberry Polka Dot and Cherry Blossom

Colour

The Original lip balm is clear, however the Strawberry Polka Dot and Cherry Blossom balms are both tinted. As the names would suggest, the Strawberry is slightly red tinted and the Cherry is slightly purple tinted. The colour payoff isn’t great, but I guess it is a lip balm not a lipstick. The shades give a slight hint of colour, which is perfect if you want a subtle look.

Finish

Some lip balms give a glossy finish, however the Lypsyl products seem to give a more natural finish. I would say they feel like they absorb into your lips rather than sit on top of them. My lips definitely felt softer after the product wore off, whereas with other lip balms my lips only felt soft while I was wearing the product. The products also contain SPF 15 (always important with a lip balm), Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, which help to make your lips feel soft.

Fragrance

The Original balm is fragrance free, but the Strawberry and Cherry balms smell like… well… strawberry and cherry! I absolutely love the strawberry fragrance, it reminds me of those Haribo strawberry sweets and I find it difficult to not lick my lips. I’m not such a big fan of the cherry smell though, it is a bit too artificial for me.

Price

One of the great things about these products is the price. They cost around £1.50 each, which I think is very good value for money. You can afford to try the different fragrances without breaking the bank!

Overall I am really happy with all three of the Lypsyl products. They make my lips feel really soft, and help keep them in good condition for when I want to wear lipstick. My favourite is definitely the Strawberry Polka Dot just because it smells amazing. I don’t think you can really go wrong with the price and I would recommend anyone to give Lypsyl a go.

Lypsyl is available to buy from most Supermarkets including Tesco or stores such as Lloyds Pharmacy.

  • Ooo I do like lypsyl – the cherry one sounds good purely because of the taste of cherry! Yum x

    • That’s exactly why I love the strawberry one haha, it tastes so nice! xx
