I’ve decided to start a new series on my blog called “Lipstick of The Month”. If you’ve read any other posts on this blog you might have noticed that I’ve got a bit of a thing for lipstick. No other beauty product makes me as happy as a new lipstick, and you can never have too many nudes right? So I thought why not dedicate a whole post each month to a lip product I’ve been loving? Whether it be a new discovery or an old favourite. The product I’ve chosen to be my first ever lipstick of the month is a new discovery and it is… *dramatic pause*… the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte liquid lipstick in the shade “Serenity”.
Why It’s Lipstick Of The Month
Firstly I love the colour. It’s the perfect pinky, browny nude and it’s great for everyday wear. I also like the matte finish. It’s not too drying and I would say it’s more velvety than full on matte. The only thing I would say about the formula is it can go a little patchy if your lips are too dry (but it’s nothing a bit of lip balm can’t solve). I was impressed with the wear time as well. Unless you’re eating and drinking a lot it will last a good number of hours. Below is how the shade looks on my lips, as you can see it’s a tiny bit flakey, but that’s more down to my lips being dry than the lipstick.
Have you ever tried anything by Gerard Cosmetics? What did you think? Do you like liquid lipsticks or do you prefer something more traditional?
The Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Lipstick costs £9.50 from Beauty Bay. (It seems like the shade Serenity is out of stock at the moment, but the other shades look gorgeous too. I have my eye on Cher!)
