Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick Review- Tease and Minx

Over the last few months I have bought quite a few beauty boxes and in two of these I was lucky enough to receive a full sized Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick. I received the shades Tease and Minx from the Nude range. They have a satin finish and are long lasting.

I really like the packaging, the black box with gold writing that the lipstick comes in looks elegant and the actual lipstick bullets are sturdy and the lids won’t come off in your bag. I also love the names, they are all related to the nude theme and I think they are really clever.

Now onto the colours. I’ll start with the shade I didn’t like and that was Tease. It may suit certain skin tones, however, it did not suit me at all.  I am fairly pale and the shade just looked like I had concealer on my lips. I tried mixing it with a red shade to make it less concealer-like, but it was difficult to work with and separated a bit. Below is a swatch of the shade and as you can see it is very pale:

On a more positive note I am completely in love with Minx. Illamasqua describes the shade as a ‘warm rose’ and I think this is pretty accurate. On me it is a bit darker than a nude but a lovely shade. It looks almost like a purple/ berry colour on me and is the perfect autumn/winter lipstick. It is also very long lasting. It can go a little dry after a few hours but not uncomfortably so.

Overall I really like the formula of these lipsticks and they are highly pigmented.  Tease was not the right colour for me, but Minx has become one of my favourite and most used shades.

Overall Ratings:

Tease- 4/10

Minx – 9.5/10
