What do you think about when you hear the phrase “nail wraps”? The first thing that comes to my mind are those cheap paper wraps that stay on your nails for less time than it took to put them on. Did anyone ever try the Myleene Klass ones? I’m happy to say though, I’ve found some nail wraps that actually last and they’re marble print too! They come from a small brand called Dinki Belle, who sell a range of different wraps, all non-toxic and free from formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor and formaldehyde resin. I, like many bloggers, have a mild Essie obsession. The colours are all so pretty and the quality is good as well! Last week I was having a browse in Boots (as I do most weeks) and I saw that they had an offer on- buy the Gel Setter nail varnish + any colour for £15. Bought without the deal the nail varnishes would have cost £17.99, so the chance to save a couple of pounds was enough to convince me. The next challenge was to choose a colour, not an easy task at all! Eventually, after I had been staring at the polishes for a little too long, I went for the shade “Meet Me At Sunset”. Today I am happy to share with you the first ever guest post on Rated in Beauty! It is written by the lovely Sophie from Books and Beauty and features her perfect pastel polishes for Spring and Summer. I hope you enjoy it and go check out her blog!
During the spring and summer months, you can go one of either two ways for your nail polish: bright or pastel. I think most people go for bright spring and summer nail polishes. However, if you like your nails to be a little toned down and a cute pastel colour, like myself, I have put together some of my favourite pastel polishes perfect for both spring and summer. Recently Barry M launched a new range of Nail Varnishes- The Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paints. They claim to give the look of salon gel nails but without the need for a UV lamp. I really liked the sound of this (and I thought the idea was interesting) so I picked up a couple in Superdrug. The colours I chose were a blue shade called “The Way You Make Me Teal” and a nude called “Do It Like A Nude” (anyone else have Jessie J in their head?). View Full Post
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a brand called Prairie Charms on Twitter. They were collaborating with Bloggers to help spread positivity and raise awareness for the charity Make A Wish Foundation. I could hardly say no to promoting such a good cause so here is my post. After browsing the site I decided to order the Effie Nail Glitter, which was a lovely light blue colour. I was given a 25% discount for this and 25% from the order also went to the Make A Wish Foundation. With my order I also received 2 free gifts, the Macy Nail Glitter which was a bright pink colour and the Demi Gold Nail Stripes. View Full Post
In the winter months I always find myself wearing dark nail varnish. One that I picked up recently was a nail polish by Crabtree and Evelyn in the shade ‘Black Cherry’. Crabtree and Evelyn are a brand mostly known for their hand creams and body and fragrance products, however they also sell a range of nail lacquers.
- The colour is really nice, it is a very dark burgundy shade which is almost black.
- It is really easy to apply, the colour goes on evenly and without streaks.
- The polish dries quite quickly.
- The Crabtree and Evelyn website also claims that it reinforces and protects nails.
