Just a quick post today to announce that Rated In Beauty has had a makeover! I was getting a little bored of the layout of my blog and I wanted a change. My blog is a WordPress blog and although there are loads of free themes I felt that I would have more control (and a better design) if I paid for a theme. I was fairly happy with my old theme (see photo above) but it just wasn’t quite right. The main issue was that I didn’t like the dark header and didn’t want to mess up my blog trying to change it with code. Now I’m so much happier with my site, I think it looks more professional and I can change the colours without needing to know any code! Here’s a screenshot of the new site:
So where did I get the theme? I’m sure a lot of you will have heard of Pipdig, so many bloggers use their themes and templates. This is one of the premade WordPress themes. It was quite expensive (£39), but after hearing stories about themes from Etsy looking rubbish on mobile sites or just not working as expected, I thought it was a good investment. It was super easy to install and also came with instructions on how to use the theme. For example, how to add the social media icons and a profile picture. Overall the whole process probably took me less than half an hour!
There are still a few things that I want to organise, but I’d love any feedback you have. Good or bad, I really would like to know what you think! What do you think of the blog makeover? Is there anything I need to add? Thanks for reading and let me know in the comments below.
