You Beauty Discovery- March Box

Best of British 2015

You beauty discovery best of british

Before I started this blog I used to subscribe You Beauty Discovery. I gave the boxes up to make way for My Little Box, but this month’s selection was so good I had to order it! If you are unaware of how You Beauty Discovery works you choose 2 items to be sent from the shortlist for that month. You also receive extra items each month that you don’t choose. This month the theme was ‘Best of British’ and it features a great selection of British brands. The items I chose this month:

  • Percy and Reed Volumising Hair Mousse– I have quite straight and sometimes flat hair, so this definitely appealed to me. The product claims to give you ‘extreme lasting volume without the sticky, stiff feel’. This sounds good to me and I am looking forward to trying it out.
  • Illamasqua Lipstick in Sangers– This was the reason I bought this box. I have a couple of Illamasqua lipsticks and I really like them, so the chance to own another one was impossible to resist. The shade is described as blood red and has a matt finish. I have been wearing this today and it has lasted really well, even through eating and drinking. It does feel a little dry but that is to be expected with a matt lipstick.

The extra items:

  • Dove Youthful Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner– These are aimed at ageing hair, which I don’t think I have at 22. It says it helps replenish nutrients lost with age. I’m undecided whether to try these or give them to my mum as they might be more suited to her hair.
  • Nakd Cocoa Orange Bar– I’ve never actually tried one of these even though I am a fan of fruit bars. I don’t really like dates or raisins and this always put me off trying the Nakd bars as most of them contain these. I wish I had tried one sooner though because I really liked it. The texture was almost cake like and I couldn’t even taste the raisins! I am definitely going to buy some more!

Overall I was very impressed with You Beauty Discovery this month. The Illamasqua lipstick was the obvious star but I am also really pleased to be introduced to Nakd bars which I will definitely be purchasing. The only negative was the shampoo and conditioner, but for £6.95 there are no complaints from me! Have you subscribed to You Beauty Discovery? What do you think about the March edition of the box?

You Beauty Discovery is a monthly subscription box and costs £6.95. It is available here.

  • Wow this sounds really good! I am quite suprised it only costs £6.95 😮

I used to subscribe to this beauty box for the majority of last year. It’s such good value for money isn’t it? I unsubscribed purely because there was a few occasions I really wasn’t that bothered about the products you got to choose from but that lipstick looks gorgeous.

    • Yeah I was exactly the same. There were a few boxes I wasn’t that impressed with so I unsubscribed, but this one was too good to miss! xx
